Dwyer Heritage Restorations commenced work on upgrading the brickwork at Marrickville Railway Station with our exclusive Tuckpointing system. This beautiful station now has all the character of when it was originally opened in 1895.
The Railway station at Marrickville is a significant as it is a station on the Sydenham – Bankstown line which was constructed to relieve congestion the main south-west line as well as to encourage suburban development the the growth of agriculture in the late 19th and 20th century(1895).
Marickville Railway Station is a significant at a state level of aesthetic design of the pre – 1900 standard buildings which include the use of polychromatic brickwork,decorative dentil courses, ornate awning brackets and carved barge boards.
Marrickville Railway Station is listed on the NSW State Heritage Register.
Dwyer Heritage Restorations restored all the original brickwork back to its original condition as directed by NSW Heritage Guidelines Brick Repairs and Brick Tuckpointing. Restoration was completed 2016.

The highly intact main platform building represents the period of transition from the boom time of the 1880s to the standardisation of NSW railway building design from the 1890s onwards, while the booking office on Platform 2 reflects a later period of expansion in the first quarter of the 20th century.
